New Zion Ministries is a Christ-centered, Kingdom focused nondenominational ministry. We are committed to Building Kingdom People for Kingdom Living.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the fulfillment of divine providence of God, The New Zion Ministries was founded by the Reverend Jimmy Allen Thomas. The first worship service was held on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:45 a.m. in the sanctuary of the King of Glory Tabernacle Church of God in Christ located at 2314 East 83rd Street, Chicago, IL. When the invitation to establish a new church was extended by Rev. Thomas, fifty-eight-(58) persons stepped forward to commit to becoming ‘the church with a mission and a people on the move’.

New Zion Ministries, which had been operating out of the lower sanctuary of the King of Glory Church for 2 ½ years, relocated its ministry and its powerful message to its permanent church home located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago at 12147 S. Cicero Avenue, Alsip, IL on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Pastor Thomas lovingly refers to the property as ‘God’s Million Dollar Miracle’ because of the divine favor bestowed upon the congregation; the speed and efficiency with which the Church was acquired. The purchase included a magnificent church edifice along with all of its contents. In addition, there is a single family annex building with ample parking all on 2.6 acres of land.

We are known to be The Church with a Big Heart. And our mission is to move ‘beyond the 4 walls to become the church 4 all’. We seek to grow as God prospers us and uses us to reach a lost and dying world. There is more to follow on our historical milestones.
